Citing Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, Bartos would not break down exact health benefits paid to each official, referring The News-Item to budget figures for 2012 and 2013.
Bozza and a code office secretary received in 2012, with projected 2013 figures in parentheses, a combined $42,681.84 ($44,407.60) in dental, health and life insurance; Scandle and a deputy secretary a combined $43,232.48 ($44,566.80, without dental), including vision.
Group benefits for council members, the mayor, controller, solicitor, community development officer and a secretary are lumped into one line item. It totaled $104,411.66 for health, dental, life and vision. The projected total for 2013 is $121,901, and there is no dental coverage for next year.
Both Rozinskie and Snyder declined benefits in 2012, as told to The News-item last year. It's unclear who else is or is not receiving benefits in 2012 or 2013, Bartos again citing HIPPA restrictions.
