DANVILLE - The Mount Carmel Area Red Tornadoes' face-off against the Danville Ironmen Friday evening has inspired a fundraising opportunity for the school's stadium council.
Since Cheryl Latorre, who is from the Mount Carmel area, and is a former Mount Carmel Area superintendent, is now the superintendent of Danville School District, the Danville Stadium Council will use the rivalry to raise money for its track and turf project.
Representatives of each team will collect donations on their respective sides during the game. Whichever side raises the most money "wins" Latorre, who will sit on that team's sideline for the duration of the game.
Money will be collected at the gate from 5 to 6:45 p.m.
