MOUNT CARMEL - District 54 Deputy Dave Shinskie met with officers of the Knights of Columbus from Ashland, Elysburg, Kulpmont, Mount Carmel and Shamokin for a semi-annual meeting at Council 628 Aug. 6.
Recruitment, special programs, scholarships and installation of officers for 2013-14 were topics of discussion.
Elysburg Council was lauded for developing a First Degree Team in the District. Also, Elysburg and Ashland elected new Grand Knights to serve their respective councils in the coming year. Sir Knight Michael Adams, of Shamokin, was appointed financial secretary for that council by the Supreme Knight.
