MOUNT CARMEL - Plans for upcoming activities were discussed at a meeting Nov. 11 of the Northumberland District Council of Catholic Women, which was held at Divine Mercy Hall of Divine Redeemer Church.
Elaine Jurgill, president, called the meeting to order. Members recited the prayer to Our Lady of Good Counsel and the Pledge of Allegiance. Mary Sawicki read Psalm 63 for the Bible enthronement.
Members were welcomed by Carol Altomare, parish council president. Roll call was taken, and the secretary's report was given. Correspondence was read and commission reports were given by Margaret Forbes and Theresa Conniff.
Jurgill reported on the clergy and religious appreciation dinner that was held Oct. 10 at the Wayside Inn.
The next meeting will be held in February at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Williamstown.
Remarks were offered by the Rev. Francis Karwacki, spiritual moderator.
The meeting was adjourned for sick and deceased members, followed by a luncheon by the host parish.
