MOUNT CARMEL - Chief of Police Todd Owens will speak on "How to detect a meth lab in your neighborhood" at the monthly meeting of Friends and Family Concerned About the Abuse of Drugs, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Church of Our Lady, 47 S. Market St.
The public is welcome to tonight's meeting.
A borough man and his girlfriend were charged in August with operating a meth lab in their South Beech Street home. Two years ago, borough police believe they were close to uncovering a portable meth lab at a West Third Street apartment, but it was moved just prior to their check of the property.
The by-products for making methamphetamine are extremely toxic and dangerous.
