SUNBURY - A Coal Township woman charged Thursday with keeping approximately $1,240 in donations intended for the family of 13-year-old Missy Pangburn, a Shamokin girl killed in a Dec. 10 fire, was released from prison Friday and is scheduled to appear this morning for her preliminary hearing.
Victoria Fortine, 25, of 1625 Pulaski Ave., posted $10,000 cash bail and was set free at about 4:15 p.m. It was not clear if she went through a bail bondsman or provided the money herself.
Fortune is charged with misdemeanors of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received and receiving stolen property.
Fortune, a native of Stroudsburg, will appear at 9:30 a.m. today before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III on the charges filed by Coal Township Detective Jeff Brennan.
Each charge carries a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and/or $10,000 fine.
