STRONG - Details involving a three-vehicle accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of Routes 61 and 54 have been released by Mount Carmel Township police.

Chief Brian Hollenbush said the 8:30 a.m. crash occurred as sleet was pelting the area. No serious injuries were reported.

He said Tazio Adras, 38, of Sunbury, was driving a blue 1998 Ford van east on Route 54 when he lost control of his vehicle, which struck a silver 2001 Volkswagen Jetta driven north on Route 61 by Sarah Stellar, 30, of Mount Carmel. Stellar's car then spun and hit a red 2013 GMC truck operated by Edward Zablosky, 53, of Shamokin, in the northbound passing lane.

The Jetta and truck came to rest in the northbound passing lane of Route 61. The van struck a snowbank in the westbound lane of Route 54, where it came to rest.

All three vehicles were towed from the scene by Dave's Auto Body of Shady Acres.

Police said the three drivers suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. They did not require hospitalization.

Adras was cited by Patrolman Brian Carnuccio for careless driving, a red light violation and driving without insurance.

Stellar also was cited for driving without insurance.
