BLOOMSBURG - The Moose Exchange, a nonprofit arts and cultural center, will hold a special fundraiser in conjunction with Bloomsburg's Art Walk-In from 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the Caldwell Consistory, 150 Market St.

The event will benefit tenants and artists who resided in the Moose Exchange when a fire swept through the building on Jan. 30. Money raised will assist tenants and artists replace valuable items lost in the fire. Future fundraisers will be held to benefit the rebuilding of the Moose Exchange building.

The fundraiser will take place in the downstairs back room of the consistory and will include a casual dinner, live music and a silent auction.

Rod Kile with the restaurant Kreekside 2 will serve BBQ, chips and potato salad or applesauce from 4 to 8 p.m., with an admission cost of $10 per adult and $5 per child. There will also be live music from 4 to 10 p.m. For music only, there is a $5 cover charge.

Silent auction items include gift certificates for local dining establishments and wineries, lodging, yoga classes and wellness services, entertainment tickets, and much more.

Bloomsburg's Annual Art Walk-In will take place in the downstairs front room of the consistory. It will showcase artwork from local artists while giving back to the downtown community. Local performers Paul Loomis, The Early Music Ensemble and George Chamuris will provide music, and attendees can speak with artists about why and how they create artworks in photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, fibers, jewelry and other media.

Two funds have been established for the Moose Exchange at First Columbia Bank and Trust, one for tenants and one for Moose Exchange rebuilding efforts. The public can donate by visiting any local branch and mentioning the funds.

Donations may also be made through the Moose Exchange's website at www.MooseExchange.org. Checks made payable to Moose Exchange may be mailed to 203 W. Main St., Bloomsburg 17815.
