Chuck Wagon won't operate this week
God's Chuck Wagon, the mobile soup kitchen that makes weekly stops in Mount Carmel, Shamokin, Kulpmont, Trevorton and Tharptown, will not operate this week because of the weather.
Residents reminded of snow ordinance
MOUNT CARMEL - Residents of the borough are reminded to remove snow and ice from their sidewalks within 24 hours of the end of the storm in compliance with Mount Carmel's "Quality of Life" ordinance. Businesses are required to clean their sidewalks within four hours of storm's end. Failure to do so will result in a ticket.
Residents are asked to refrain from placing snow in the street. Those who use plows are reminded to remove piles from corners.
