Kulpmont recycling to resume today
KULPMONT - Due to the inclement weather, Kulpmont Borough recycling will resume picking up plastic recyclables today.
GHS employees donate $350,000
DANVILLE - Employees of Geisinger Health System donated more than $350,000 to the United Way during the health system's annual employee campaign.
Geisinger's 2013 Corporate United Way campaign concluded with total employee contributions of $354,394.11 to nearly 30 different United Way organizations throughout the Geisinger service area. This total far exceeded the campaign's goal of $250,000.
"The Geisinger mission and the goal of United Way share a common purpose: to improve the quality of life for people in our local communities," said Dr. Glenn Steele Jr. president and chief executive officer of Geisinger Health System. "At a time when people throughout our service area and nation face serious hardships, Geisinger employees demonstrated their compassion, generosity and commitment to improving the quality of life for those in need."
Geisinger's 2013 Corporate United Way campaign kicked off on Oct. 15 and concluded on Nov. 29.
