LANCASTER - A young girl with local ties is making a splash in a production of a time-honored Christmas classic.

Allie Hynoski, 11, daughter of Steve and Monica Hynoski, of Red Lion, is part of the cast of "A Christmas Carol," playing through Dec. 23 at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater.

According to a story written by York Daily Record writer Erin McCracken, Hynoski has been performing for about four years, working in community and professional productions in Ephrata, Lancaster and Mount Gretna.

In "A Christmas Carol," Hynoski plays the part of Grace, a poor girl who recently lost her mother. Her father tries to scrape together money for the mortgage payment by working for Scrooge.

Hynoski called "Grace" one of her favorite roles in her young career and says she has more auditions coming in the Lancaster area. Her goal is to one day appear on Broadway.

She is a granddaughter of Jean and Harriet Hynoski, of Red Lion, formerly of Mount Carmel, and the great-niece of Gloria (Hynoski) Howard, of Mount Carmel.
