Cub Scout packs throughout the Susquehanna Valley are inviting boys in fourth through sixth grades to join. Boys and an adult are encouraged to attend the location of their choice to learn more and register at a location within their school district.

Cub Scouts explore a variety of new interests and activities with other boys their age. Scouts meet weekly or biweekly in small groups (dens) and monthly with the entire group (pack) to share experiences, activities and recognition. Boys in first through fifth grades are eligible and can start at any level.

Participation helps Cubs develop a sense of confidence, teamwork, responsibility and a spirit of service. Scouting strengthens family and community relationships, build friendships and identifies areas of interest. Independent research shows that Scouting helps boys develop increased skills and abilities including teamwork, willingness to help others and to carry out responsibilities, as well as an increased ability to get along well with other young people and adults.

Families unable to attend a registration night can contact the Susquehanna Council of the Boy Scouts of America at 326-5121, extension 100. Additional information about Cub Scouts can be found by visiting wwwbeascoutorg.

The Susquehanna Council serves more than 2,500 young people with 1,400 adult volunteers in Clinton, Lycoming, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties.
