PA German class scheduled
KLINGERSTOWN - The Line Mountain Charge, Evangelical Association of Reformed and Congregational Christian Churches, will hold its annual elementary Pennsylvania German language class at Salem Church, 11 Church Road, Rough and Ready.
Classes begin Thursday and will run from 7 to 9 p.m. on six consecutive Thursdays.
N. Daniel Schwalm will be the teacher again this year.
Everyone is welcome. Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure adequate course materials, but all walk-ins are welcome. There is no charge for the course, but a free-will offering will be received.

Community swim program to start
COAL TOWNSHIP - The community swim program at Shamokin Area Middle/High School will begin Monday and will run for 10 weeks.
The open swim will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Admission is $3 for children and $4 for adults.
In addition, a program of lap swimming and swimnastics will begin Tuesday. The program, which will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays for 10 weeks, is for anyone 18 and over to increase endurance, flexibility and strength. It is a fun program for overall conditioning. Lap swimming will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., and aquatic exercise from 7 to 8 p.m. A $60 admission must be paid at registration.
