Organization News: Rainbow Club

COAL TOWNSHIP - The monthly meeting of the Rainbow Club was held in the Our Lady of Hope parish hall. President Ruth Romanoski called the meeting to order with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Birthdays were acknowledged, along with special cakes and refreshments donated for the occasion.

Recognition was given to a devoted member, Helen Falck, who passed away recently. Members said she will be missed not only by the club, but by the entire community. Get-well wishes were extended to secretary Dolly Yocum and all members who are on the sick list.

Florence Verano, treasurer, gave reports on the club and on upcoming trips.

The Mass and banquet will be held Oct. 13 at the Keeler Center in Harrisburg. Rainbow Club members will be picked up at the Weis parking lot at 8:15 a.m.

The Christmas show on Nov. 7 will be the last trip of the season. The bus will leave at 9:15 a.m. There is a waiting list for the trip.

Irene Curran won the attendance award.

The 50/50 was hosted and won by Dixie Richardson, Cath Reed and Ann Koshinskie. Bingo was called by the officers.

The president called for adjournament, and members recited a closing prayer.

The next meeting will be the Mass and banquet in Harrisburg.
