SHAMOKIN - The following hearings took place Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court Sept. 23 in Northumberland County Court, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Justin R. Hepler, 25, of 1325 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, waived to court a charge of altering a prescription for Percocet from 30 to 80 pills in connection with a May 29 incident at the pharmacy at Weis Markets in the Anthra Plaza.
The charge was filed by Coal Township Patrolman Terry Ketchem.
n Jordan Pawelczyk, 20, of 322 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, waived to court charges of retail theft and criminal conspiracy.
She was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Terry Ketchem with stealing four computer tablets from Walmart Supercenter on Route 61 on June 3.
n Thomas J. Welliver, 34, of 238 S. Sixth St., Coal Township, waived to court a charge of retail theft.
Welliver was charged by Coal Township Patrolman David Sage with stealing a roll of Gorilla Tape and two packs of M&Ms from Walmart Supercenter on Jan. 30.
n John A. Lenig, 42, of Shamokin, waived to court two counts each of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility involving incidents that occurred March 14 in Shamokin.
Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano filed the charges.
n Joseph Miscavage IV, 19, of Shamokin, waived to court charges of theft, criminal conspiracy to commit theft and criminal mischief.
Miscavage and a 15-year-old male were charged by Coal Township Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with stealing a mini bike from the rear of Robert Schleig's property at 705 Center St., Tharptown, on May 20.
Miscavage also waived to court charges of receiving stolen property, fleeing or eluding police, driving without a license, careless driving, failure to stop at stop signs and driving without registration filed by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II.
The charges relate to a May 21 motorcycle chase.
