SHAMOKIN - The latest exhibit now in place in the lobby of the Independence Street branch of Susquehanna Bank highlights the work of Dennis "Wags" Wagner.

With no formal art training, Wagner started drawing late in 2010. He quickly developed a passion for drawing older buildings and trees with the pencil. He has since incorporated watercolor to some drawings to add a little more life. Some drawings are from photos and others are from the imagination or thoughts from others.

His artwork is done using acid-free components and prints are made using archival inks. Most of the frames are handbuilt and stained using old rough cut lumber or barn boards by Wagner himself.

In his first showing at the Bloomsburg Fair in 2012 he was awarded honorable mention in the pencil drawing category.

He is a member of the Northumberland Council for the Arts and Humanities and the North Mountain Art League and Bald Eagle Art League.

Wagner resides in Irish Valley with his wife and two dogs.

The work will be on display through Aug. 15.
