LEWISBURG - A number of health and wellness topics were displayed during the annual Wellness Fair at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center.
Seventy-six practical nursing students set up booths and activities that provided health information and services to their peers and members of the community.
The students selected topics such as stress management, diabetes, alternative medicine and summer safety. After researching the subjects, the students created displays and handouts to distribute at the fair.
Students Jenn Fisher, Kelsey Symanski and Jeanette Fox hosted a booth with information about PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).
"We really wanted to emphasize that trauma can happen to anyone and educate the community on how to handle the different types of trauma," said Fisher.
The students conducted the wellness fair as a group project for one of their nursing courses, "Medical and Surgical Nursing." More than 100 visitors attended the fair at the center in Lewisburg.
The LPN Career Center is operated by the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU) and is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing (PSBN) and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
