Cemetery cleanup volunteers sought
SHAMOKIN - Volunteers are being sought to help clean Shamokin Cemetery.
Citizens for a Better Community is looking for individuals, church groups and members of civic or social organizations to volunteer for its brand new Adopt-A-Plot program which kicks off at 1 p.m. Saturday. Volunteers will be asked to mow grave sites and trim around headstones at the cemetery on Academy Hill. Saturday's work will continue until 3 p.m.

Sweeper to clean streets next week
DEN MAR GARDENS - The Mount Carmel Township Board of Supervisors asks village residents to remove vehicles from the streets Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for the street sweeper.
Supervisors warn that all cars not removed from the street on the designated day will receive a $15 ticket.
