MOUNT CARMEL - The Council of Catholic Women and Rosary Altar Society of the Church of Our Lady held their monthly meeting March 7 in the parish hall.
President Theresa Conniff brought the meeting to order. The meeting began with the council prayers and the Pledge of Allegiance. Debbie Gownley gave the treasurer's report.
The diocesan convention will be held April 15 at the Cardinal Keeler Center in Harrisburg. A bus will be available. Cost per person is $25. Deadline to register is April 1. Infant, toddler clothes and diapers are needed to take to the convention. These items will then be distributed to Birthright.
In the absence of Maria Bridy, Gownley gave the Rosary Altar Society report.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will host for the 25th and 50th wedding anniversary Mass and dinner at the 11 a.m. Mass Sept. 8. Each parish bulletin will have more information about the Mass, dinner and contact information.
The Rev. Frank Karwacki informed members the Lift Your Spirits group will perform at Our Lady's Church at 6 p.m. Palm Sunday.
The next deanery meeting will be in June at Our Lady of Hope Church in Coal Township.
Serving on the refreshment committee for the next meeting will be Lois Sejuit and Anna Short.
Prayers were said for active, sick and deceased members. Refreshments were served, followed by bingo.
