Dollar General reopens
SHAMOKIN - The Dollar General Store, 30 E. Independence St., which had been closed Thursday and Friday due to heating problems, reopened Saturday morning for regular business hours.
Applications for funding
SUNBURY - Northumberland County commissioners announced Tuesday that President Barack Obama has declared 16 counties in Pennsylvania, including Northumberland, as primary disaster areas, where eligible family farmers may qualify for the Farm Service Agency Emergency Loan program due to Hurricane Sandy.
Applications may be received until Sept. 10.
Applicants are urged to contact their local Farm Service Agency office, 405 W. Market St., Middleburg, at 837-0007 for more information.
