HARRISBURG - This week, Rep. Kurt Masser (R-107) received committee assignments for his second term in office representing the 107th Legislative District in the state House of Representatives.
Masser was again selected to be a member of the House Urban Affairs Committee, which means he will continue to be involved in issues affecting the state's largest cities including housing, urban redevelopment, economic development, land use planning and zoning, growth management, infrastructure financing and city services such as police, fire, sewerage and water.
Additionally, Masser was assigned to three new committees:
- The House Consumer Affairs Committee, which maintains oversight on various issues and matters that fall under the regulatory jurisdiction of the Public Utility Commission (PUC) and Office of Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection.
- The House Liquor Control Committee, which is responsible for all legislative and constituent issues relating to the administration of alcoholic beverage licenses and the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages in Pennsylvania.
- The House Tourism and Recreational Development Committee, which focuses on issues such as travel and tourism promotion; the Historical and Museum Commission; amusement parks, fairs, carnivals and folk festivals; the film industry; scenic roadways; and the ski industry.
"I'm looking forward to getting to work as member of each of these committees as I think each of them works on issues that uniquely affect the 107th District," said Masser. "I thank Speaker of the House Sam Smith for assigning me to committees that will allow me to make a difference with residents at home and across Pennsylvania."
