LATS to make mall trip
MOUNT CARMEL - The Lower Anthracite Transportation System (LATS) will be taking a morning and afternoon trip to the Susquehanna Valley Mall in Hummels Wharf Jan. 23 for $2 each way.
The following departure times are for an 11 a.m. arrival at the mall: 9 a.m., Mount Carmel High Rise; 9:05 a.m., Third and Oak streets; 9:10 a.m., Willow Court; 9:12 a.m., Pleasant Valley; 9:15 a.m., Atlas; 9:20 a.m, Kulpmont (Town Park); 9,30 a.m., Ranshaw; 9:40 a.m., Harold Thomas High Rise; 9:42 a.m., Weis (by loading docks); 9:47 a.m., Coal Township High Rise, and 9:55 a.m., Lincoln Towers.
The following times are for a 3:30 p.m. arrival at the mall: 4:30 p.m., Weis (by loading docks); 4:35 p.m., Coal Township High Rise; 4,45 p.m., Lincoln Towers; 4:50 p.m., Harold Thomas High Rise; 5 p.m., Ranshaw; 5:10 p.m., Kulpmont (Town Park); 5:15 p.m., Atlas; 5:20 p.m., Mount Carmel High Rise; 5:25 p.m., Third and Oak streets; 5:30 p.m., Willow Court, and 5:33 p.m., Pleasant Valley.
Free flu vaccine clinic today
COAL TOWNSHIP - A free flu vaccine clinic will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. today at Our Lady of Hope Church, 863 W. Chestnut St.
Flu vaccinations will be available for free to all who attend.
Adult pneumonia and DTaP vaccines will also be available to uninsured or underinsured people who meet eligibilty requirements.
The clinic is sponsored by the state Department of Health. Acting Secretary of Health Michael Wolf will attend today's clinic.
Baseball registration set
MOUNT CARMEL - The Clover Hose baseball team will have registration for all new and returning players ages four to 12 for the 2013 season from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at the Clover Hose Company, Sixth and Oak streets.
All players must tell their coaches if they plan on returning this year and all new players must bring a copy of their birth certificate. Anyone with questions can call Charmange at 339-5113.
