TREVORTON - The Trevorton Senior Action Center held its monthly meeting Jan. 3, with nine memberspresent.
The meeting opened with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Edwina Savidge, president, read a letter of thanks to those present for their cooperation.
The center's New Year's resolution for 2013 is to encourage more seniors to join the center and enjoy the hospitality and fellowship experienced there daily.
Lunch is available everyday at 11:30 a.m., and members were encouraged to invite friends and neighbors or to bring new ideas and activities for members to enjoy.
A letter of get well wishes was sent to Shirley Treon, who is recuperating at home.
The secretary's report was read by Wanda Heath. The treasurer's report was given by Mary Ellen Hoffman, vice president.
The center is looking for a volunteer to serve as treasurer. Phyllis Burrows will handle the duties for two months and will then decide if she will accept the position.
The center has decided to continue a monthly trip with van service provided. If more than one trip per month is scheduled, the cost of the additional trip will change the fees presently paid.
The center will continue with Exercise with Amy at 10:30 a.m. every Friday morning. The center is open everyday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The president gave a travel committee report, including the following trips: Wednesday, Hollywood Casino, and Feb. 20, Mohegan Sun Casino. A list of other trips is available by contacting Joyce at 797-3695, Judie at 648-0105 or Nina at 648-0545.
At trip to Fairlane Village Mall is planned for Friday and a birthday party will be held the same day. Sign-up sheets are available at the center or call 797-1996.
The Wii bowling team will bowl against the Shamokin center team on Jan. 24 at the Trevorton center. Blood sugar and pressure readings will be provided on Jan. 25 by a Sunbury Community Hospital nurse. There will be a card party at 7 p.m. Jan. 28.
