SUNBURY - A West Cameron Township woman was sentenced to probation Monday on several child endangerment charges filed in August for incidents in Shamokin.

Tracy Tobias, 35, of Upper Road, Gottshalls, pleaded guilty to one count of child endangerment and was sentenced by Northumberland County Judge William H. Wiest to 18 months probation.

She was charged by Shamokin Patrolman William Miner with five counts of endangering the welfare of children for incidents between May 1 and July 9 at a home in the 900 block of East Chestnut Street.

Police previously said Tobias left her four children unsupervised in a home unfit for human habitation.

They also said her autistic son, 5 years old at the time, wandered away from the home July 9 and was found six blocks away, adding that she was unaware of his whereabouts for approximately two hours during that incident.
