MOUNT CARMEL - Eight defendants pleaded guilty Wednesday and were ordered by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones to pay fines and costs. Six were placed on probation.
n Dustin J. Murray, 19, of 505 E. Melrose St., P.O. Box 213, Marion Heights, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for 12 months.
Additional charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, underage drinking, restriction on alcoholic beverages and careless driving were withdrawn.
The charges filed by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Matthew Filarski relate to a Dec. 6 accident on Sagon Road (Route 2026).
n Natasha Fetterman, 28, of 91 Center St., Aristes, pleaded guilty to selling or furnishing liquor or alcohol to minors and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year. Two counts of criminal conspiracy and one count of corruption of minors were withdrawn.
The charges filed by Filarski involve an Aug. 17 incident at 509 E. Clermont St., Marion Heights.
n Charles J. Savitski, 40, of 651 E. Fourth St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a $100 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year.
Additional charges of simple assault, resisting arrest, harassment and public drunkenness were withdrawn.
Savitski was charged by Mount Carmel Lt. Christopher Buhay with punching the lieutenant in the stomach during a Jan. 19 disturbance at Savitski's home.
n Shannon B. McGinley, 19, of 50 N. Maple St., Apt. 202, Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for 12 months.
Additional charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance were withdrawn.
McGinley was charged by Mount Carmel Patrolman Matthew Dillman in connection with a Dec. 3 incident at her apartment.
n Gregory A. Barkus, 39, of 522 E. Avenue, Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to one count of harassment and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year.
Three additional counts of harassment, four counts of terroristic threats and one count of stalking were dismissed during a preliminary hearing.
Barkus was charged by Mount Carmel Cpl. David Donkochik with making threatening telephone calls to his estranged wife, Pamela Barkus, Jan. 17. Police said Barkus allegedly discussed killing the victim and her family members and called her obscene names in the messages. Donkochik told the victim to call Barkus, who allegedly said he would kill the officer, too.
n Tanner A. Hess, 19, of 229 W. Girard St., Atlas, and Chloe C. Wydra, 36, of 299 Ralpho Road, Elysburg, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and were each ordered to pay a fine and costs totaling $268. An additional offense of default for failing to appear in court on criminal charges was withdrawn against both defendants.
Hess and Wydra were charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Kelly Campbell in connection with a Dec. 12 incident at the township police station.
n Judith M. McGinley, 51, of 129 W. Third St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to misbranding a controlled substance and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year.
Additional charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance were withdrawn.
The charges filed by Dillman relate to a Dec. 3 incident at 50 N. Maple St.
