LEWISBURG - The SUN Area Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold its third annual Survivor Youth Camp for children ages 11 to 15.
The camp to be held at the chapter office, 249 Farley Circle, Lewisburg will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 30 through Aug. 3. Participants can register for the week-long day camp by visiting www.redcross.org/takeaclass or by calling 1-800-733-2767, using coupon code #SURVIVORCAMP0812.

The camp will include instruction and certification in a variety of Red Cross courses such as first aid, adult CPR, infant child CPR, pet first aid and the full babysitter training course. Students will also be introduced to disaster services, service to the armed forces, and international humanitarian aid. This camp session is limited to 25 participants.
Students should pack a lunch daily until Friday, at which time they will have the opportunity to participate in a mock disaster drill. Using the skills learned during camp week, they will prepare and serve their lunch using a Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV). Campers' parents and older siblings, grandparents and other adults close to them are invited to participate in the drill as "victims" and to enjoy lunch with their graduating students.
Parents or guardians of participating students will be expected to sign waivers and complete a health history form.
