Clean-up project planned

MOUNT CARMEL - A community cleanup will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Those interested in helping are asked to meet in the parking lot of Boyer's Market and bring gloves, rakes and brooms. For more information, visit Project MCA Cleanup's Facebook page.

Free Thanksgiving meal offered

SHAMOKIN - Restoration Ministries Church, 525 W. Chestnut St., will host a free public dinner at noon on Thanksgiving Day.

Christmas concert planned

ELYSBURG - Community Spirit along with the Southern Columbia Gospel Choir will present a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 599 W. Center St. Come and celebrate the music of the season with voice, brass and hand bells.

SCA to hold middle school tour

CATAWISSA RR - The Southern Columbia Area School District is holding an open house for all district residents to tour the new middle school addition and gymnasium at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Barletta offering internships

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta invites college students to apply for internships available in both his Washington, D.C., and Hazleton district offices in the spring semester.

Anyone over the age of 18 who has an interest in politics and government can apply to be an intern. Internships do not have a set start and end date and can be determined by the individual. Schedules are also determined based on an intern's availability.
