PORT TREVORTON - A 16-year-old girl Snyder County girl faces charges of trying to kill her aunt and uncle by setting their home on fire while they slept.
Teasia Marie Long, of Port Trevorton, was charged Monday with two counts of attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, arson and other offenses.
An investigator said in the arrest affidavit that Long admitted to setting the fire in the 1554 Main St. home of Nancy and Gerald Bickhart at about 1:30 a.m. Monday because she was angry about an argument with her aunt the day before.
The affidavit claims Long started the fire by lighting perfume-soaked rags and placing them on a carpeted stairway. The victims were asleep upstairs, according to state police at Selinsgrove.
Long is in Snyder County Prison with bail set at $200,000.
