BLOOMSBURG - Project Trio, a high-energy chamber music ensemble that combines a classical background with musical styles such as jazz, rock 'n' roll and hip-hop, will perform Friday as part of Bloomsburg University's Celebrity Artist Series.

Hailed by the "Wall Street Journal" for their "wide appeal, subversive humor and first-rate playing," Project Trio entertains audiences of all ages, combining classical chamber music with the stage presence of rock stars.

The genre-defying group consists of Greg Pattillo on flute, Eric Stephenson on cello, and Pete Seymour on double bass. The trio got its break in 2006 when Pattillo's "Beatbox Flute" video received millions of views in its first week on YouTube. They have since garnered international attention via their YouTube channel which has more than 77 million views and 85,000 subscribers, making Project Trio one of the most watched instrumental ensembles on the Internet.

The group will be the first to perform in the newly renovated Kenneth S. Gross Auditorium in Bloomsburg University's Carver Hall when they take the stage at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children and Bloomsburg University students.

Project Trio's performance is part of Bloomsburg University's celebration of its 175th anniversary.

Upcoming Celebrity Artist Series productions include:
