WATSONTOWN - A homeless man is facing corruption of minors, drug and other related charges for allegedly using a syringe and needle to inject a controlled substance into the arm of a 16-year-old Watsontown boy Christmas afternoon.

According to Watsontown Police, Chad L. Brouse, 21, with no current address, was arraigned by District Judge Hugh Jones, Mount Carmel, Wednesday night on charges of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, corruption of minors, recklessly endangering another person and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said they recovered from the victim's residence a bag which was used to package the controlled substance. Brouse was later arrested in New Columbia.

Brouse was searched, and a syringe, a needle and other drug paraphernalia was found in his pocket, police said.

He was committed to Northumberland County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing will be held at 9 a.m. Jan. 22 at the Milton office of District Judge Richard Cashman.
