Memory program offered
DANVILLE - The Maria Joseph Continuing Care Community is offering a "Memory Care and Thought Stimulation" enrichment program open to the general public as well as its residents. New participants can sign up now for the winter class that begins Jan. 6.
The six-week program meets Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays for two hours, with a choice of two sessions, either 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 3 p.m. There is no charge.
The program does not require previous computer experience, since all of the exercises can be done using a touch screen. Participants work at their own pace, with assistance available from an instructor. People who have completed the class in the past have reported positive results.
In addition to enhancing general memory and retention ability, the program is also designed to boost concentration and improve skills such as flexibility in thinking and speed of thought processing.
