SHAMOKIN - On Monday, the Coal Township and Shamokin police departments held their sixth annual Christmas party, when Santa and Mrs. Claus gave presents to more than 40 area children.
The event was organized by township Patrolman Terry Ketchem and city Cpl. Jarrod Scandle and was held at Independence Fire Company.
The party has grown significantly over six years, and organizers credit sponsors, supporters and volunteers with its success.
