Christmas Eve service planned
PAXINOS - A Christmas Eve service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at St. Peter's United Church of Christ on Airport Road.
Christmas concert scheduled
SHAMOKIN - The Archbishop Curley High School Choir will present a Christmas season concert at Mother Cabrini Church, 214 N. Shamokin St., at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5.
Also featured will be the school's hand bell ringers.
Archbishop Curley High School is an all-boys Catholic high school in Baltimore. Since its founding in 1996, the choir has distinguished itself as an award-winning male chorus in the Baltimore area. The choir has performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at Myerhoff Symphony Hall, at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and at the University of Maryland in Baltimore.
The concert is free, but a free-will offering will be received.
The choristers will meet with people at a post-concert reception in the church hall.
The public is welcome.
Tree pick-up planned
ELYSBURG - The Ralpho Township Business Association members will pick up Christmas trees for township residents Saturday, Jan. 4.
Residents are asked to have their trees curbed by 9 a.m. and donations clearly attached.
Donations can also be mailed to the Ralpho Township Business Association, P.O. Box 218. Donations directly fund the association's $500 annual scholarship program.
New this year, free mulch is available for pick up by the band shell.
