Elks student awards presented at MCA

MOUNT CARMEL - The Mount Carmel Area Elks Students of the Month for November have been announced.

The Student of the Month is senior Brittany Gummel, a daughter of Jolene Reich, of Kulpmont, and Brian Gummel, of Coal Township. Brittany participates in ski club, art club, Interact club and powder puff football, and is on the volleyball team. She is secretary of Interact club, treasurer of the ski club and treasurer of the art club. She is an honor student. After graduation, Brittany plans to attend Alvernia University to become an anesthesiologist.

The junior Student of the Month is 11th-grade student Jennifer Bolick, a daughter of Frank and Sue Bolick, of Den Mar Gardens, Kulpmont. Jennifer's activities and interests include, varsity soccer, basketball and track, running, marching and symphonic bands, pep club, Interact and SADD. Jennifer previously won the Junior High Pride Award and Elks Teen of the Month. She plans to attend a four-year college to study pre-med/biology.

The Teen of the Month is eighth-grade student Raykal Adiansjah. Raykal resides in Mount Carmel with his parents, Masykur and Anna Ahmad. Raykal enjoys playing soccer, has strong religious faith, and is an honor roll student. He does well in all his subjects, but his favorite subject is math. He plans to one day become a math teacher.

The junior Teen of the Month is seventh-grade student Emily Krulak, a daughter of Elizabeth and Sylvester Krulak, of Mount Carmel. She also enjoys skiing and playing soccer. Emily was a distinguished honors student in sixth grade and received three awards for soccer. She plans to become a pharmacist.
