SHAMOKIN - The seventh annual Ladies Christmas Tea was held at Christian & Missionary Alliance Church Friday. Chairwomen Debbie Bellavia and Lori Hopta said it was the largest to date with 175 in attendance.
Nineteen tables were decorated by a hostess with a specific Christmas theme. An array of hors d'oeuvres were prepared by the men of the church and each hostess served her guests.
Guests enjoyed music by strolling violinist Rachel Bradigan and harpist Esther Straight. Carols were sung and special vocal numbers were offered by "Rachel & Esther." Some holiday thoughts were presented by Bellavia, reminding everyone to take time to pay attention and listen to the people in their lives who are important, thus showing the love that Jesus came to give to all mankind.
Hostesses were Christine Bijl, Irene Reitz, Mary Weaver, Susan Miller, Judy Dressler, Corrine Slodysko, Marian Weikel, Dawn Raker, Mae Bressi, Allison Saryisky, Margie Donlan, Carol Kaseman, Hopta, Barbara York, Judy Bowers, Susan Chesney, Janice Steinhart, Jeanne Shaffer , Robin Hain, Sharon Hoffman, Linda Long, Bernie Zack and Bellavia.
Favors made by the ladies of the church were given to everyone as the evening came to a close.
This ministry was started to support and encourage women to take the time to enjoy one another by sharing fellowship and friendship.
A spring banquet is being planned with a special theme. All events are open to the public.
