SHAMOKIN - Tickets for "Polar Express," which will be shown at 6 p.m. today at the Northumberland County Career and Arts Center, Arch and Eighth streets, will be available from noon to 4 p.m. at the Fun Shop during Shamokin's Downtown Christmas. Deadline approaches for tax bills
SUNBURY - The Northumberland County Tax Claims Bureau, 399 S. Fifth St., reminds property owners with real estate taxes due for 2013 that the deadline for payment before taxes are turned over to the Tax Claim Bureau is Dec. 31. For information, call your local tax collector.
Electric trains to be given away
The Loose Ties Model Railroad Club will give away three free electric trains at area malls Sunday.
The club will open on its usual second weekend of the month at the Columbia Mall, where one train will be given away, and will also send its traveling display of model electric trains to the Susquehanna Valley Mall near Selinsgrove, where it will give away two trains.
"It's our way of spreading the joy of Christmas," said club president Jeff Johnstonbaugh. "We thank the model train stores for generously donating these electric trains that we will give away."
Children accompanied by an adult can register to win the model trains. Drawings will be held at each mall at 3 p.m.
