WILLIAMSPORT - A federal judge has imposed a new one-year supervised probation period for a Coal Township man charged in connection with a drug bust last December.
U.S. Middle District Judge Christopher Conner sentenced Joshua M. Peregrin, 31, Thursday for violating his supervised probation by being charged in the drug bust conducted by the Northumberland-Montour Drug Task Force. Conner revoked Peregrin's current term of supervised probation.
Peregrin was indicted in August 2007 on charges of conspiracy to possess a stolen firearm, receipt of possession of a stolen firearm and aiding and abetting, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and aiding and abetting, and possession of a firearm by a drug user in connection with a May 2004 incident in Reading.
He pleaded no contest Oct. 7 to possession of a controlled substance in Northumberland County Court in connection with the drug bust on Dec. 14, 2012. Additional charges of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia were not prosecuted under the plea agreement.
The charges filed by Mount Carmel Police Chief Todd Owens and Patrolman Matthew Dillman relate to a Feb. 24, 2012, incident in Mount Carmel.
