Tire slash charges
SHAMOKIN - William C. Slusser, 42, of 132 N. Eighth St., is accused of slashing four tires on a vehicle parked in his neighborhood on Thanksgiving Day.
The vehicle was parked outside 152 N. Eighth St. at 1 p.m. Nov. 28 when the alleged incident occurred, and damage is estimated at $396.68, police say.
Patrolman Nathan Rhodes filed a criminal mischief citation against Slusser on Thursday.
Boyfriend assaulted
SHAMOKIN - Maria Ann Hill, 30, of 228 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, has been charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with simple assault and harassment involving a domestic disturbance Thursday night.
According to a criminal complaint, Hill is accused of hitting, pushing and scratching her boyfriend, Ryan Kirchman, and throwing him into a wall at Hill's residence at about 7 p.m. Police said Kirchman's shirt was ripped and he suffered scratches on his neck, back, shoulder and upper arm.
Hill was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Benjamin Apfelbaum of Sunbury and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $7,500 cash bail.
Checks stolen
COAL TOWNSHIP - Jake Berkheiser, from K&S Distributors, reported to Coal Township Police that during the week of Nov. 25, someone removed three checks, written out to other businesses, from a mailbox.
Purse theft
MONROE TOWNSHIP - Keena Zalar, of Coal Township, reported to state police at Selinsgrove that at 3:35 p.m. Nov. 30, someone removed her purse from a shopping cart at Walmart near Selinsgrove. The suspect was a white female.
The investigation continues.
Unauthorized use
COAL TOWNSHIP - Logan Gudonis, 18, of Coal Township, was charged by police with unauthorized use of an automobile after allegedly taking his mother's 2010 Ford car at 5:40 a.m. Oct. 4 and driving it to the Mount Carmel area to pick up a friend without her permission.
Gudonis only has a learner's permit and operated the vehicle without a licensed operator present, another violation, police said.
DUI arrest
SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - David L. Hojnacki, 62, of Coal Township, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop at 7:16 p.m. Nov. 16 at the intersection of Routes 61 and 487.
State police at Stonington report Hojnacki's vehicle was traveling north on Route 61 and police stopped him after observing several traffic violations.
Two-vehicle crash
ZERBE TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday along Trevorton Road (Route 225).
Township Police Chief Robert John said Robert V. Zedanowich, 75, of 1432 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township, was backing his 2006 Chevrolet SUV out of a driveway and failed to see an approaching 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Matthew J. Reichenbach, 42, of 1479 Trevorton Road, Coal Township.
Reichenbach applied his brakes but couldn't avoid the collision due to oncoming traffic. Neither driver was injured, but Reichenbach's vehicle sustained moderate damage. Zedanowich's vehicle had minor damage.
Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
Flat-screen stolen
EAST CAMERON TOWNSHIP - Richard Conner, 45, of Shamokin RR, told state police at Stonington that sometime between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Friday, someone entered his home along Doutyville Road and removed a flat-screen television. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 570-286-5601.
KofC club cited
SHAMOKIN - The Casey Club, 400 E. Independence St., the social club of the Knights of Columbus organization, was cited Nov. 27 by the Williamsport district office of the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for failing to have the board-approved manager complete RAMP Training within 180 days of the board's approval of the appointment. The violation occurred between Sept. 11 and Oct. 28.
The charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.
The district office in Williamsport is in charge of enforcing liquor laws and related provisions at more than 863 establishments in Bradford, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Potter, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga and Union counties.
