Singers wanted for Choraliers
SHAMOKIN - The Choraliers community singing group will start fall rehearsals at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at First United Methodist Church, Sunbury Street. Anyone who can read music and follow the director is invited to join the group. The Choraliers present concerts each Christmas season and spring.
Date set for Halloween parade
SHAMOKIN - The annual Halloween parade sponsored by First National Bank and The News-Item is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.
No rain or snow date has been planned this year as to avoid conflict with other local parades.
