SHAMOKIN - Two property owners have been issued multiple citations by police for not correcting issues with their dilapidated buildings.
Cpl. Bryan Primerano filed six citations each against Larry Burda, 63, of 701 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, and Louis Lippolis, of 846 Allentown Road, Sellersville.
Burda was cited three times for failing to repair a deteriorated roof at 701-703 N. Shamokin St., which has resulted in material falling that has endangered the public and adjacent buildings. He also was issued three citations for failure to fix a collapsed garage in the 700 block of East Clay Street that has wood and nails exposed.
The citations were issued in connection with incidents on Aug. 23, Aug. 25 and Aug. 27.
Lippolis was cited three times each for failing to repair a detached second-story porch at 14 S. Shamokin St. and allowing garbage, high grass and weeds at the same property. The citations were issued for incidents on Aug. 23, Aug. 25 and Aug. 27.
Certified letters were sent to Burda and Lippolis notifying them of their violations.
Burda and Lippolis face fines and costs if found guilty of the violations.
