Community service set for Saturday
COAL TOWNSHIP - Participants in a community service program coordinated by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Brewser's SportsGrille.
Lourdes mum sale this weekend
SHAMOKIN - Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School annual mum sale will take place at the Williams residence, 603 W. Chestnut St., from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
'Dueling Pianos' tickets now on sale
COAL TOWNSHIP - Tickets for the third annual "Dueling Pianos" performance by Dueling Pianos International are now on sale.
The event will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. Sept. 28 at Brady Fire Co. Doors open at 6 p.m. Food is served through 7:30 p.m.
Cost is $25 and includes beer, water, soda, food and entertainment. All proceeds benefit Lower Anthracite Regional Recreation Committee.
Tickets can be purchased at Coal Township Municipal Building, 805 W. Lynn St., and Brady Fire Co.
Public input on transportation sought
HARRISBURG - As part of the update to the commonwealth's 12-year transportation program, Pennsylvanians are invited to visit www.TalkPATransportation.com to provide input on their transportation priorities and to register for the program's interactive online public meeting.
The program, which serves as a blueprint of prioritized transportation projects, is updated every two years through a cooperative effort among the State Transportation Commission (STC), PennDOT and its 23 regional planning partners.
The online public meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26.
Pennsylvanians can register for the meeting at www.TalkPATransportation.com and questions may be submitted in advance to ra-penndotstc@pa.gov.
Through Oct. 7, the public can also submit feedback at their convenience on the website, by emailing ra-penndotstc@pa.gov to request a printed survey copy or by calling 1-855-896-4930.
