MOUNT CARMEL - Cindy Saukaitis, president, opened the monthly meeting of the Carmelite Over 50 Club, which was held at Village Towne restaurant. Seven members attended.

Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance, the Senior Adult Ministry prayer and the Saint Mother Pauline prayer. They sang the Over 50 song and verse of "America." Prayers were recited for deceased and sick members and for the safety of the troops. They said a special prayer for Gerry Palewicz and Theresa Zosh Yanonis' husband.

After the meal, Al Visintainer gave the treasury report, which was approved on motion of Arlene Terry and Tina Connor and made available for audit.

There were no minutes for the previous meeting because Maria Kaminski, secretary, was away.

The president received a thank-you from the family of Gerry Palewicz for the card she sent. Terry announced plans for the regional meeting, which was held at Harry's Grill, Shamokin. She asked if members wanted to make a donation to be sponsors for the booklet for the Mass and banquet.

The 50/50 was won by Yanonis and Kaminski.

The next meeting will be held Aug. 8 at Knoebels Amusement Resort. Members will meet at a pavilion which is close to the Ferris wheel. They will leave Mount Carmel at 11 a.m.

The meeting was adjourned on a motion by Connor and Terry.

Members played bingo.
