Barry King Bridge rumors untrue
MONTOURSVILLE - In view of apparently widespread and persistent rumors regarding the Barry King Bridge, which carries Route 11 over the Susquehanna River at Northumberland, PennDOT would like the traveling public to know the following:
- There are no current plans for major repairs or closures of the Barry King Bridge, also known as the White Bridge.
Relatively minor repairs were completed on the bridge several weeks ago under traffic.
- The bridge is in good condition and does not require any work that would require closing the structure in the foreseeable future.
Memorial Rose Sunday event set
ELYSBURG - The annual Memorial Rose Sunday event will be held Sunday to benefit the Ralpho Township Public Library.
The roses can be purchased to remember a deceased loved one, honor a special person or acknowledge a special occasion. The annual event includes a rose bud arrangement, placed in the area church of choice to honor the named person or people.
