Parents welcome for theater finale
MANDATA - Gamut Theatre Group will wrap up its first residency at Line Mountain Junior-Senior High School with a final performance for students, faculty and parents at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.
During the residency, Gamut educated eighth-grade English students on theater basics as they created a production based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe.
Gamut Theatre Group is the combined theater company of Popcorn Hat Players Children's Theatre and Harrisburg Shakespeare Company. Their mission is to tell classic stories in new and exciting ways for the entertainment and enlightenment of children and adults.
The residency was made possible with funding support from many entities. The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts granted funds through its regional partner, the Perry County Council of the Arts (PCCA), which coordinates and evaluates arts residencies in seven central Pennsylvania counties. PCCA has also contributed funds donated by Line Mountain Council for the Arts and Humanities, DuMor Inc., Capital Blue Cross, Riverview National Bank, First National Bank of Mifflintown, American Sentinel Insurance, Orrstown Bank and Davis Vision through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program.
