Date picked for yard sale
MOUNT CARMEL - Mount Carmel Borough's annual community-wide yard sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 15.
The sale starts at 7 a.m.
Six $2,000 scholarships available
MOUNT CARMEL - Mount Carmel Area Athletic Alumni Association (MC4A) reminded Mount Carmel Area High School graduates who are now attending an institution of higher learning (college, trade school, etc.) that July 15 is the deadline to apply for the MC4A scholarships.
The organization will award six scholarships for $2,000 each to the lucky winners of a lottery-style drawing Aug. 12 at its annual scholarship awards dinner. If a student scholarship winner has a parent who is a member of MC4A, the scholarship will increase to $2,500.
Winners will be selected from among qualified students who submit an application and a higher education transcript.
