COAL TOWNSHIP - Motorists traveling through the bridge rehabilitation work zone on Route 61 just north of Shamokin are asked by PennDOT to obey the traffic restrictions at that location, for safety's sake.
While heading south on Route 61, there are no left turns onto Center Street.
Some motorists have been moving the channelizing devices to make the turn. This is a serious safety concern. Motorists' cooperation in obeying the work zone traffic pattern is strongly urged.
Southbound traffic to Tharptown may turn at the signalized intersection with Hospital Road.
Traffic is being maintained in a single lane in each direction.
All work is scheduled for completion by Nov. 1.
