Daffodil Days items still available
SHAMOKIN - Today is the last day to pick up Daffodil Days items from The News-Item. Daffodils are $10 per bunch, $12 for mini potted daffodils, $15 with a vase and $25 with a Boyd's bear.
Tax office closed Saturday
ATLAS - The office of tax collector Jan Costello, 418 W. Saylor St., will be closed Saturday.
SBDC, legislators team up
LEWISBURG - Representatives of Bucknell University Small Business Development Center will be available at local legislators' offices in April to provide entrepreneurs with free consulting services and information.
This one-on-one consulting emphasizes education to those interested in starting a new business or expanding an existing business. Consulting is confidential and provided at no charge. Typical business topics include how to start a business, financial analysis, hiring employees, bookkeeping, preparing a business plan, financial forecasting and marketing strategies for growth.

Thursday, April 11, at Rep. Kurt Masser's office, 467 Industrial Park Road, Elysburg, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Friday, April 12, at Rep. Lynda Schlegel-Culver's office, 106 Arch St., Sunbury, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Appointments are required and must be scheduled two business days prior to a meeting date.
