MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court April 28 in Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Michael Anthony Wolfe, 56, of 437 E. Melrose St., Marion Heights, waived to court charges of driving under the influence of a drug or combination of drugs, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under suspension and careless driving involving a Jan. 3 accident at the Marion Heights ballfield and playground off Route 2026.
The charges were filed by Mount Carmel Township Police Chief Brian Hollenbush.
n Joseph Allen Szido, 18, of 916 N. Orange St., Shamokin, waived to court charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive in a single lane, careless driving, underage drinking, driving under the influence of alcohol while being a minor and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
The charges filed by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Patrick McAndrew relate to a Dec. 23 accident on Route 901 between Excelsior and Boylan's Garage.
n Ray Vincenzes, 50, of 824 Pine St., Kulpmont, waived to court two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under suspension and restrictions on alcoholic beverages and a turning violation in connection with a Dec. 22 traffic stop in front of his home.
The charges were filed by Kulpmont Patrolman Joshua Pastucka.
