FISHING CREEK TOWNSHIP - Two Berwick men were allegedly cooking methamphetamine Sunday in the back of a parked van in Columbia County when they encountered an unexpected guest: a state trooper.
Walter Ridall, 51, was seated in the driver's seat and Kenneth Crumb, 34, was in the van's back allegedly making the drug when state police found them parked about 7 p.m. along Old Tioga Turnpike, Trooper Patrick J. Finn, state police at Bloomsburg, said in a public information release.
Both men are charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were arraigned and jailed in Columbia County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
State police says Crumb is wanted in Delaware County, Ohio.
A State Police Clandestine Lab Response Team responded to clear the scene of the highly volatile materials.
