Kulpmont Food Surplus distribution

KULPMONT - Kulpmont Borough will be holding a food surplus distribution at the borough garage from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday Sept. 20. Residents enrolled in the program are reminded to bring their assigned bags.

Free concert for grief-stricken

DANVILLE - Geisinger HomeCare & Hospice and Compassionate Friends of the Susquehanna Valley will hold a free community concert with recording artist Alan Pedersen at the Grove Presbyterian Church, 332 Bloom St., at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1.

Pedersen's daughter Ashley died in 2001 as the result of an automobile accident. Since 2004, he has been writing, recording and performing original songs to inspire healing in others who have also lost loved ones. Throughout his presentation and concert, Pedersen will deliver a message of hope and healing.

Pedersen has also released four CDs of original material. In 2010, he was named Professional of the Year by the National Board of Compassionate Friends.
